Alice and Wonderland

Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was the big event of the Royal Ballet’s 2010-11 season, the first full-length new work commissioned by the company in fifteen years. Alice encounters with the Mad Hatter and his friends, the caterpillar, and her entry through the previously locked door into the garden she has been seeking. Entertaining choreography and colorful costumes with a sense of adventure is what we will be learning this week.

Week 2

June 19 - June 23

Learn one of the classics and Holiday favorite with the Nutcracker. This week the children will get to learn different characters from the story and will have fun experiencing choreography, fantasy make up, costume design and best of all experience Christmas music in July!

Week 3

June 26 - June 30

Have You Filled a Bucket Today?!

Inspired by the book “Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids” by Carol McCloud. The story focuses on positive values such as friendship, tolerance, acceptance and teamwork. Targeting  positive behaviors helps to promote a positive reaction in the children’s lives with a goal to create healthier and safer environments in their communities. This week will be a fun week, dancing with actual buckets and stars, balloons and more!

Week 4

July 10 - July 14

Peter and the Wolf a "symphonic fairy tale for children", is a musical composition written by Sergei Prokofiev. The narrator tells a children's story, while the orchestra illustrates it. Each character of this tale is represented by a corresponding instrument in the orchestra.

Enjoy a week full of diverse sounds and rich movement resembling different animals on the wild. Move through storytelling and a fun variety of activities.
